About LCFF & LCAP
-
The Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) requires school districts develop a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP.) The Local Control Funding Formula represents the most significant change in California’s funding system for K-12 schools in four decades. It is the central feature of landmark legislation— Assembly Bill 97—currently being implemented in every California school district. It will affect every school in the state, including charter schools. This plan describes how the district intends to meet annual goals for all pupils, with specific activities to address state and local priorities, identified to Education Code Section 52060 (d).
One goal of this law is to improve academic outcomes by providing more money to school districts that serve high-needs students. Another goal is to give local school districts more authority to decide how to spend education dollars, and hold them accountable for getting results. PUSD has a Budget Sub-Committee to assist in this process. For additional information about the LCFF, please reference the California Department of Education website.
After meeting with students, staff, parents/guardians, and community stakeholders, a LCAP Update is created and presented to district advisory groups. A LCFF Budget Summary is located in the LCAP Update. Community members who have questions regarding the document are encouraged to contact their local school site or the Pittsburg District Office at (925) 473-2300.
