    After School Program Overview

    • The Pittsburg Unified School District offers no cost After School Programs at each of our elementary and junior high sites.  Programs are available to students in 1st through 8th grades.  These programs are free to students who attend school in the district and who can benefit from this type of programing. The program starts at the end of the school day and runs to 6:00 p.m. daily. Students are expected to participate for the entire afternoon. There are limited spaces available at each site so it is best to contact the site directly to determine availability.

      The goal of the program is to provide a safe and healthy environment where students can engage in active learning. Each afternoon the students will have the opportunity to work on homework and participate in enrichment and recreational activities. In addition, a healthy snack and supper is provided every day. Activities include:

      • Hands on Science
      • Arts and Crafts
      • Math and Language skill building
      • Sports
      • Nutrition
      • Dance
      • Multi-cultural performances
      • Music

      English:

      The registration process begins on-line IN SUMMER 2022. The submission of the application does not guarantee enrollment. Priority is given to full-time scholars (Monday-Friday) in grades 1 st - 8 th and their siblings. Scholars are then enrolled in the program on a space-availability basis.

      Once the application for your scholar is received, families will be notified of the application status by the site Coordinator the week of August 1st. Families who have not received communication by August 8, 2022, will be placed on a wait-list. Notification will be given as space becomes available.  Please contact the after school office for any additional questions @ (925) 473-2322.

      El proceso de inscripción comienza en línea en VERANO 2022. La presentación de la solicitud no garantiza la inscripción. Se da prioridad a los becarios de tiempo completo (de lunes a viernes) en los grados 1º a 8º y a sus hermanos. Los becarios se inscriben en el programa en función de la disponibilidad de plazas.

      Una vez que se reciba la solicitud de su becario, el coordinador del centro notificará a las familias el estado de la solicitud en la semana del 1 de agosto. Las familias que no hayan recibido comunicación para el 8 de agosto de 2022, serán colocadas en una lista de espera.
