Summer Math Institute (SMI) 7-8

  • PUSD, in partnership with Los Medanos Community College, offers the Summer Math Institute (SMI) for junior high school students. This program is patterned after the Jose Valdes Math Institute in San Jose. SMI is geared for students entering 7th and 8th grade. In this FREE program, students are given six weeks of focused instruction on specific math concepts varying from basic whole number skills to the skills necessary for success in the first semester of Algebra 1. The students are exposed to math and computer classes to help them in junior high math. Due to the 2020 shelter in place guidelines, the SMI program will be adapted to fit virtual learning.

For questions or more information about SMI, please contact Phil Lucido
